Our Trip Away

We just got back last night from visiting the UK. I know that is strange sounding with me being on the IOM, but that is the way we think of it.

Anyways..we had a few great days visiting with David's sister that lives near Runcorn and we went to Betwys-y-Coed in North Wales. It was BEAUTIFUL..it is a Victorian Spa Village??? It has some lovely shops and walking trails and 2 sets of spectacular waterfalls. Lovely old inns and hotels. Beautiful area.

We also took David's daughter shopping at the Trafford Centre on Sunday..ok I went shopping too.

On Monday we met up with HG and her hubby at Cheshire oaks and had lunch at Nando's (mmmm) and then went to Costco..OMG..so many kewl things!! (thanks HG)

Tuesday we drove down to Coventry and met up with Ricki and her hubby. Wednesday we went with Ricki to Warrick Castle which was amazing and drove into Strafford and had a look around there. Wednesday night we had dinner with Ricki, Maria and Jenny (slicesmisses) Thursday we drove back to Runcorn and then got the ferry home last night.

It was a great break for the time we did.

Now we just have to clean up the house from leaving the others here alone... God they are adults you think they would have a clue by now.

Sounds like you had a lovely time!  I might hit you up for some travel tips.  I am in the midst of planning the rest of my trips before I leave in November and it's a bit odd realising I only have a couple more months in the UK.

We go away to Houston in November. It will be our last trip there I think before we move there next year.....it will be strange won't it?

My Dad lived in Runcorn (Halton Lodge) until he entered a nursing home. I visited there a few times.
Betwys-y-Coed and Llangollen is a favorite area for me. My DW wants to spend more time in North Wales on our next trip but with all the aircraft being put in mothballs it may be awhile before it becomes do able.

I hate to see you move because of your connection with the IOM and also your contribution on here.

Aw thank you Jim..we will always be connected to the IOM..I don't think David would and will give up being Manx.....and you won't be able to get rid of me THAT easy..

The countryside was amazing it was so pretty. Really enjoyed the drive down. We had the top down on the car.

That sounds like a lovely trip.
We lived not far from Betwys y Coed My mom used to take me for Tea on Sundays to one of the old hotels as they used to serve it in big silver tea pots and it came with cream cakes, all very proper. It's probably still there doing the same thing. They used to have lots of American visitors who would book fishing trips with them.
IOM is wonderful, we went there on holiday too, had loads of fun on the beach and in a big bed and breakfast just in from the beach. I still have all the pictures of us at the three legs of Mann (SP) and not sure where but it looks like gardens with lots of Manx cats wandering about and in cages.
