BBC featured American satires at the Edinburgh Fringe Fest
« on: August 02, 2008, 11:22:31 AM »
Just wanted to invite any of you who might be in Edinburgh this month to come by my two shows, "Jeff Kreisler '08" and the original play/live sitcom, "The Americans."
We're very excited about both and have already had some great advance press, including this piece just broadcast on the BBC:

Info below as well as on our Fest website, http://www.AmericaTheShow.com [nofollow]

Thanks!
Kreisler

"Jeff Kreisler '08" - 6:10 pm Daily - The Stand
Bill Hicks Spirit Award winner, whose current collaborators include Comedy Central, CNN and the creator of The Daily Show. Kreisler attacks American politics and culture with passion, absurdity and hope. First full-length Edinburgh show.

“A highlight” – The New York Times
"A welcome reminder of a time when comedy cut a lot closer to the issues of the day than most comics now dare." - Dallas Morning News
"A slightly demented, extremely animated set that attacks everything..." - San Francisco Chronicle

"The Americans" - 3 pm Daily - Gilded Balloon Teviot

"The Americans" is a fast-paced, absurd, multimedia sketch comedy show parodying American family, politics, and culture. When money problems hit the once wealthy Americans, the family members scramble to gain control of their crumbling world. Republican dad Sam takes desperate measures to reverse his growing credibility gap. Left-wing mom Libby vows to maintain the household's feng shui. Spoiled daughter Mary chases celebrity while fending off advances from her boyfriend Ira Raq. What will happen to The Americans?
From UpTop Productions: Comedy Central's Jeff Kreisler, Anne Teutschel and Anna Moore.

"Brilliant, cutting satire" - Lizz Winstead, creator of "The Daily Show"

Looks good, Jeff! We just went to our first show last night, and have been making a list of what else to go to - we'll add you to the list!  :D
Ok, so I'm smug.

Interesting - most of the comedians taking the piss out of Bush were American, i wonder if the reviews and reactions would have been as favourable if the comedians were Britsih/non American....?
