HI,
Can anyone recommend an immigration lawyer/solicitor that would have experience filing our spousal visa application through the consulate? My partner (UK citizen) and I (US citizen) are getting married soon and want to apply for our spousal visa so we can move back to the US. I have been living in the UK for two years on a work Visa but my passport wasn't stamped when I first flew over (no police anywhere when I came over) and didn't get it stamped until I came back from a visit home six months later. Anyway, we are thinking there might be complications and are really fearful of making a wrong move and having to wait even longer. We just want some advice. Also, we want to know if getting married in the US when we are home for a visit would be a good idea or if we should get married here. So many questions...

Cheers,
Jenny

If you have been in the UK with a stamp in your passport for 1.5 years you  have lived here long enough to DCF without a problem. I wouldn't waste the money on a lawyer!

Check out diveintoamerica, it has great info!

Thanks, both these sites are becoming a big help. I am just nervous of screwing up and having detrimental impacts...but am feeling more confident the more I am reading.
