HSBC - Send Money Overseas
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:34:07 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with this service?  We're not subject to paying any fees on money transfers, but will the US recipient have to pay fees for receiving the money?  Also, is it as simple as just putting the routing & account numbers in and the money's off and how long does it typically take?

Sorry for the questions.  Thanks in advance!   :)

Im not sure how this works because I use Moneycorp for my transfers... but just because you dont think your paying any fees you actually are because they are just giving you an exchange rate that is a bit lower and taking money off that.

I.E. If the exchange rate they get is 1.85... they offer you 1.75 and keep the .10 for themselves... Which if your transferring £500, they get $50 of it. It just how it works... so my advice is to shop around for the best exchange rate... depending on the amount of your transfer, it could save you alot of money.

Thanks for the info.  Its more just for convenience sake than anything else, especially with all the hoops to go through for other transfer companies.  I actually found what I was needing from this thread.  Sorry for reposting the same question again.   ;D
