Good News for a Change! Finally a phone call from the Consulate

It had been 25 working days since I submitted my application by post. Without an email from the Consulate in New York, and, after hearing about the 12 week emails coming out of L.A,  we were getting really worried. 
So yesterday my fiance went to see his MP.  He explained our situation, that I am pregnant, and that I need to get to England soon to get married and make other arrangements before our baby is born.  He said the MP was very helpful and promised that he would make calls to get it sorted out.  He said he would do whatever he could, and knew who to talk to.  I was skeptical, but happy that at least we were doing something.
Today (Saturday afternoon)  I got a phone call from the Consulate asking me a few questions.  This is the first contact I have had with them!  They said that I will be getting an email on Monday with a decision!!
I am so happy that I may even be able to get there by the end of the month!!!  I don't see why they would deny our application, it's pretty straightforward, but still a bit nervous for the email on Monday.

It's fantastic that your DH's MP did something for you and I bet it will be approved!!!! it makes ya feel warm inside when people post good news here, it gives ya hope 

This is an extraordinarily good result.  Would you please pm me the name of the mp?  He must be well and beyond high up on the totem pole...

Could just be a coincidence of timing, or just that he e-mailed the Ministerial Correspondence Unit...but great news anyway!

Too fast a turnaround for the MCU in my estimation.  This was a direct phone call to *THE* singular one-and-only right person.

True enough that IO's have been pulled into temporary ECO slots and everyone should begin to see the log jam cleared out.

Actually, I don't care if it is a coincidence or not, as long as I can see my fiance soon!

I don't know the MP's name, but I will let you know.  My fiance is supposed to call him on Monday, so I will find out if it was his call or not. 

It looks like others got a call on Saturday as well, so good news for lots of people!

My visa has been issued, I just got the email!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear your visa is done! I know it's difficult waiting for the process while being pregnant. I was 7 months gone when I got mine (only took 6 days tho, It was my passport that took longer--3 weeks for a renewal) and just made it back to England at 33 weeks, and my daughter was born at 38 weeks!

So much good news all around!  Congratulations

YAY and congrats Rmovitz!! heheh I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I got the email heh I finally did both, laugh for joy and cry for release of all that anxiety I gained waiting heheh

Based on what I'm reading here, it looks like the log jam has been broken.

Is anyone still waiting on Chicago?  They are worst hit.
