UK Passport notarized in the US - do I need to?
« on: September 23, 2008, 08:15:20 AM »
Hi, being the UK sponsor half of the visa application we need to include a notarized copy of my passport. Do I actually need to do this if I supply my birth certificate and just a regular photocopy of all of my passport pages?
If I indeed do need it notarized, can I get a bank to do it in the US, or does it have to be someone in a law related profession?

Thanks.

We just sent a copy of my husbands passport and a copy of his short form birth certificate, not notarized. In fact everything, except our marriage certificate (from the states) and my passport, was a photo copy off our printer at home even bank statements.

It is risky to rely just on copies, but if you are sending an original birth certificate that is fine.
