Visa Application Approved

I got this e-mail today from the Chicago British Consulate.  ;D

Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued.

It will be delivered by UPS Their reference number is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This is an automated message - do not respond to this email address as incoming mail is not answered.

Here's my time lines.

Online application completed on Thursday Sept. 4th

Biometrics scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 9th, went to find the place the on Saturday the 6th and was allowed to be fingerprinted ect that day.

Sent supporting doccuments via UPS on Monday Sept. 8th.

Received confirmation from UPS documents were recieved on Tuesday Sept. 9th

Recieved e-mail from Chicago British consulate that my application had been received and was being processed on Sat. Sept. 20th.

And today recieved confirmation that my application had been approved and was being dispatched via UPS Monday the 29th of Sept.

A total of 20 days since my application was recieved.

Congratulations - my wife got same email today from NY consulate so she'll be able to come over this week and join me again!  ;D

Got married on Sept 9th, biometrics on 13th. We sent the documents in on Sept 15th, got email saying it was being processed last Friday (26th) . Unfortunately I had to come home last Thursday.

A big thank you to everyone on this site for their help and advice.

Congratulations, Ven! Was that a Spousal or Fiancee? Or does it make much difference?

I'm going to be cutting it very fine, between the time my house-buyer's mortgage is approved, and the time the sale is final and I have to vamoose.

8/25/08 - LA Consulate, App. & Docs Received  ;D
9/04/08 - 2 Emails: 5 & 10 days wait notice  [smiley=confused.gif]
9/18/08 - 1 Email: 12 weeks wait notice  [smiley=puke.gif]
9/21/08 - Consulate phoned to ask departure (said Oct. 24th) [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
9/22/08 - @8:51AM VISA APPROVED OMG!!! [smiley=hug.gif]
10/25/08 Land in England!!![smiley=laugh4.gif] )
1/03/09 - Tentative wedding date
