If I have ILR, should I have one somewhere?

as far as I'm aware, if you have a straightforward, spotless immigration history, you're not likely to have a reference number at all.  That's my understanding, anyway.
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

Everyone who has made an in-country application has a reference number.

My number was listed on previous correspondence I'd received from the Home Office - like on my original fiancée visa confirmation letter, my FLR visa confirmation letter, etc...  It was at the top of these letters.  Hope that helps!  :)

I thought it would be on my ILR letter but didn't see anything when I checked again. It is just a form letter that says what my rights are under ILR. I'll have another look.

Yeah, I'm not sure it was on my ILR stuff - I got that same form letter about the rights, etc.  But I did my ILR in person at Liverpool, so I didn't get any sort of personalised cover letter through the post for it.  The reference number I'm talking about was specifically on my fiancée visa and FLR cover letters, both of which I got through the post.

If you look at the visa stickers in your passport, isn't there some sort of number on them?

There are numbers on the top right of my ILR and FLR stamps, starting with the letters UK, but they are different numbers. Would my reference number be the same throughout my time in the UK? There is also a number on my fiance visa stamp, but it does not say UK at the beginning, I suppose because I got my fiance visa from outside the UK.

Or do I just use the number that was on my ILR stamp?

Not sure.  Mine was on the correspondence that I received.

They don't give tailored letters if you apply in person, so they may never have given it.  Call the Home Office and ask.

Thanks Vicky. I called them and they gave me the number right away.
