It looks really nice... doesnt really look like there's *that* much to be done to it, but some of it's maybe just down to your personal tastes!

It's the Indian influence - I'll bet £10 that even as Onetiger & Mr R drove up the first time and saw it, Onetiger thought ' I hope it's a nice house' and Mr R thought 'flippin heck, needs an extension' ! 

We Indian people find it physically and mentally impossible to imagine a house without an extension of 'some sort' !

Great news! Sounds like you have lots of plans to keep you busy but how nice to have your very own space to do with whatever you choose.. Congratulations! 

I saw an item on the morning news about buying small or downsizing for a house. One lady lived in a home that was about 500 sq. feet. Another was in a 1000 sq. feet new home. They pointed out, besides the obvious low purchase price, that the utilities would be so much less.
Sounds good to me.
