ILR granted! What a relief!
« on: October 09, 2008, 10:46:56 AM »
Yes! I received my ILR this morning, and what a relief it was to finally have the official document in my hands. It's been a busy month with the birth of our first child, a daughter, on September 23 and my parents visiting from the U.S. Plus, I was really worried about whether or not I would even receive the ILR because unfortunately DH was made redundant just about 2 months before DD was born (what perfect timing, huh?). But I made sure to include a cover letter and tons of financial evidence to prove that we can support ourselves until he finds another job, so I think that helped. Anyway, just wanted to share my success and wish everyone else who has their applications out the best of luck. The waiting game is the worst, but what sweet relief when you finally receive that coveted "indefinite" stamp in your passport!

Thanks for all of the congrats!

Congratulations!!! When did you apply? How long did it take?

Terri, I sent the application and supporting documents on September 4 and received everything back today. I was surprised at the relatively quick turn around, especially because I have been reading some other posts lately that have indicated that it is taking longer to process visas and ILRs right now.
