Cumberland sausages are the spiciest I've had here and they aren't *that* spicy. But I did use that for sausage, biscuits and gravy and was pleased with the result.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yes I know...it's a big influence in the islands but she's both Portuguese and Hawaiian. Her mom is Portuguese.

Oh right, sorry!
The way you phrased it, made it sound (to me) like you were saying that linguica was Hawaiian!

Hello,
I new but I thought this funny.
I am originally from Dallas/Ft Worth and the thought of a Dickeys BBQ opening in Cardiff was a great day in my UK life.
I waited for quite a while for them to open and when they finally did.......they had to change the name( don't know why......this opening in Cardiff was even written up in the Dallas Observer) but more disappointing NO SAUSAGE ON THE MENU......typical UK version of an American favorite.

thanks for the posts on my question... I went to Lidl and got some of those small link sausages, which I think are what you all mentioned, but haven't tried them yet.  What I really wanted, though, was something like the hot versions of American breakfast sausage that you fry in a patty... like the hot jimmy dean or owens sausage.  can't imagine anything else with a fluffy biscuit and grape jelly... so i think those recipes using pork mince would work out well, just have to find the right way to season it and then shape it into patties.  funny how I never even thought of that... I'm so American, I never even consider just making something myself.   ::)  Guess that will have to change!

Now there is a carnival in town, but without corn dogs!!!   :o  I never thought I would miss them until I saw a carnival without a Fletchers stand!  Anyone know how to make batter for corn dogs???

Just take the sausage out of the casing and smash it down into a patty before you fry it. I do it all the time when I make a sausage muffin. No sense making your own mince if you actually like the flavor of the sausage.

Just Google for some recipes... it's basically a runny corn bread mix.

Hi,

I have bad news.
My wife and I went Dickeys last week and when we got there it had closed down.
So we went to Hardrock which is next door and I had brisket which was bad.
Sorry to get your hopes up. :\\\'(

If you will be anywhere near Addison, I HIGHLY recommend going to Houston's for bbq ribs.... they are expensive, but they are indeed the best in the world.... they fall right off the bone.  Just offering a suggestion... :)
I always liked Red Hot and Blue...  :D
