Fiance Visa - Supporting Documentation checklist...
« on: November 21, 2008, 02:40:29 AM »
Hello all, I am working on compiling the supporting docs for my visa application and this is what I have on my plate for supporting docs. Does anyone have advice as to any other docs I should include? Also, at the moment, considering the volume of documents, I am anticipating velobinding these docs before submitted them to the consulate for organizational purposes. Does anyone know if this is acceptable to them or if there is some kind of preferred means of compilation?

Here is my checklist...
1.   Visa Application of XXX (“Applicant”)
2.   Stamped Biometrics Appointment Confirmation of Applicant
3.   Original current passport of Applicant
4.   Certified Copy of U.S. Birth Certificate of Applicant
5.   Social Security Card of Applicant
6.   Certified Copy of Applicant’s divorce judgment
7.   Three months of bank statements (if applicable) for Applicant from the following banks:
a.   HSBC
b.   Citibank
c.   Nationwide Bank (opened within the past two months, one month’s statement available)
8.   Six months of bank statements for Mr. XXX (“Sponsor”) from the following bank:
a.   NatWest
9.   Documents related to Applicant’s recent wire transfer of $36,000 from savings to Sponsor’s Nationwide Building Society current account
10.   Invitation from Sponsor to Applicant
11.   Notarized UK passport of Sponsor
12.   Tenancy agreement of Sponsor
13.   Confirmation of Landlord’s approval for Applicant’s residence with Sponsor
14.   Employment contract of Sponsor
15.   Three months of Pay Slips from Sponsor
16.   One P60 Form from Sponsor
17.   Sample of flight stubs from Sponsor’s and Applicant’s travel together and to each other
18.   Photos of Sponsor and Applicant together
19.   Screenshots of Applicant’s email log with Sponsor evidencing ongoing correspondence from the following email accounts:
a.   Gmail: XXX
b.   Outlook: XXX
20.   Cell phone bill of Applicant
21.   Skype, a VOIP telephone service, call log from Sponsor
22.   One recent colour passport photograph

thanks in advance for any feedback you can give :)

Susan and Dave

What type of Visa?  :-\\\\  You forgot to mention that.  From the above, I assume it is some sort of family related visa, but it could be a Spousal, Fiancée, Marriage Visit, EEA Family Permit, blah blah blah...  ;)

Well, thanks to the very helpful people at my neighborly IAS I had quite dandy document presentation. I got one of those binders that people use for scrap booking...they kind of look like a giant version of those baby brag books, except they fit in full size paper. I then divided it into the sections that I was advised=

"The trick with these applications is to compile a book – a ring binder for example and divide it into three sections
RELATIONSHIP – marriage cert, divorce cert, child’s birth cert , anything that proves you were together before – eg photos of the two of you together , cards emails jewellery bought (receipts ) hotel / holiday bookings , rental agreements in joint names etc etc etc

FINANCE – sponsor/ husbands bank statement (six months ) wage slips in previous current job . contract of employment / letter from father(only says this because his father is his employer) / employer etc /Savings accounts pension etc etc

ACCOMMODATION – tenancy agreement / environmental health report if private let / photo of house/ utility bills etc"

I also threw in a 4th section of random things I thought they may want/need/end up asking for. At the beginning I had and index per section, then broken down from there. Now please note, I am applying for the FLR(M) so you may need different things than I do based on your visa. But I would think you could apply it to any application presentation. Plus I have a slight problem with OCD. Anyway, my binder was quite nice. And since all the pages are see thru, nothing of mine will get dirty(or lost) I hope. They can also pull them out if they need to.
As kitson said, I can't really advise on anything else to add either since no idea what visa you are going for...plus this is my first visa application...so...I am great for support  ;D

Oulvme has good advice! For a fiance visa it looks as you have more than enoguh information and the key now is to make it easy to read.  I had a huge application too and I just threw it in a 3 ring binder with a table of contents and seperation sheets and it worked out pretty well.  Good luck to you! It's a hard wait but more than worth it in the end  :)
