Thanksgivings just around the corner...
« on: November 14, 2008, 10:35:24 PM »
So what are you thankful for?

Could be anything - people, things, general, life...whatever you want.
Make a list and post it up!
Feel free to explain or not  :)

Mine:

A couple months ago I did a 50 thing list of what I was grateful for and here are some.

My Mom - she's my savor and my very best friend
My Sister - the time we had with her (even though short) won't be forgotten and neither will she.
My Dad - He's a great dad and I love him. He's come out a warrior after all he's been through.
My Friends - they've been there for me through everything and are my family
Satan (Cat) - He came home and I'm so happy and grateful.
Being Alive - Don't have much to say about that!
Déjà vu - I love the feeling of it!
Receiving kindness when I expect the opposite - Brilliant
Great Food - I'm a foodie and love to bake...LOVE it.
Honesty - Its rare to find someone who is completely honest...even when you don't want to hear it.
Respectful Debating - It can be fun and educational
Warm Baths - Nothing better after a rough day
Photography - It's my saving grace
Animals & Babies - Pure of heart and soul...make me happy instantly.
Chocolate - Ladies it may be feeble but you know it's lovely!
My Happy Pills - I feel better than I have in a long time.

And something completely useless and materialistic but I can't live without...
Electronics of all kinds!! Ipods, cell phones, computers...etc.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

Don't want this to get anyone riled up or change this category to political, but...

I am so grateful that Obama won the election. Even though I know things are still tough and will be for some time to come, I feel hopeful for the first time in a long while.

I am so thankful for my family...DH, who though not prefect is my rock...my kids, too many to say why with each one...my in-laws, who are always there when I need them.

I am thankful for my network...the Tony's, our butchers (father and son)...the Patel's, who run the corner store...BJ, Elaine and their kids, our neighbours...Kay who isn't just a neighbour but my beauty salon too...and Julie & Soul who is almost the exact same age as Emily and our first friend here in the UK.

I am happy to be doing something I love...even if I haven't broken even with the new business yet.

I am thankful that things aren't any worse than they are at present.  I found a list I'd done 10 years ago of things that were blessings and things that weren't so much.  Some of those bad things have resolved themselves but now there are new -- much worse -- things to contend with.  So I'm feeling like maybe one should be grateful for whatever is -- because no one knows what's around the corner.
