I've had a look through the search results, but haven't found any threads that answer my question. Basically, we're hoping to move back to the US within the next year. We have a fair amount of debt on our UK credit cards and likely won't have enough time to pay it off completely before we move.
I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer the UK balance onto a US credit card? We bank with HSBC, which is global so I thought they might be able to work something out but I haven't asked them yet. Has anybody here done something similar?
When I first moved to the UK, I continued to pay off my US credit card via wire transfers into my US bank account. It worked, but we'd like to avoid paying those transfer fees this time around.
