Hello all-
Long time since I posted on here... but surprisingly it's been three years since I was granted ILR and first came to the UK! So almost exactly on that day I've scheduled a NCS appointment with my local council and am submitting my application for citizenship. Finally the fella and I will each have at least one passport of the same country. Hooray!
As I've been trying desparately to pull together my travel from the last three years, I've got a few questions about filling in section two (residence requirements) of the Form AN (citizenship application). In particular about how I go about filling out the table of absences?
I ask because of this in the guidance notes:
Fill in this table showing the periods you have been away from the UK during the
last 5 years (3 years if you are married to or in civil partnership with a British
citizen). Insert the number of days you were away from the UK in the last column
ignoring the day you left and the day you arrived back in the UK (sic) If there is not
enough room for all your absences then continue on page 13. Add up the total and
write it in the space indicated.
So there are a couple of occasions when I left for a day (day trips to France for instance) and one or two where I did short overnights to the continent for work. Following the guidance notes, these result in ZERO days absence from the UK. Does that mean they go on the list but with naught in the final column? Or should I not list them at all?
Thanks in advance and sorry for taking this too seriously... I just thought I'd better get it right! :-)
