Anyone flown Aer Lingus transatlantic flights?
« on: November 29, 2008, 03:58:25 PM »
DH and I are flying Aer Lingus in january when we move, and I'm wondering how strict they are about the weight of luggage. On their website, it states a passenger can have 2 checked bags, but they cannot weigh more than 80lbs put together. And for your carry on, it must not weigh more than 13lbs. That seems really... unlikely. When we flew to Belize on holiday, our backpacks were at least 20lbs each.

Has anyone flown with Aer Lingus? If so, were they very strict about the weight of luggage? It seems really improbable to me that we're going to be able to bring everything we need, now. (Well, without having to pay a lot of fees).

There has been a lot written on here about AL and the gist of it is they are sticklers so be prepared for the worst.
Spend time in the archives here and it will answer your questions.
