Withdrawal of the Seven Year Child Concession
« on: December 12, 2008, 02:22:46 PM »
Statement at http://www.londonelegance.com/transpondia/overstay-1.shtml

This is not as bad as it sounds, the concession was long overdue to be pulled from the IDI's anyway.  It is replaced by Article 8.  There are those inclined to criticize the withdrawal of this concession, but I'd rather keep my powder dry.

I was about to say "not as bad as it sounds" but you beat me to it!  :-*

I see no problem.  I have seen applications refused because the child was only 6 at the time of application, and this change reflects that a 6 years old may have the same human rights issues as a 7 year old, which has to be a good thing.
