UK Work Experience - Earning Dates
« on: December 11, 2008, 03:59:14 PM »

I'm currently residing in the UK on a BUNAC Scheme work permit and working for a company that has started the process of applying for sponsorship eligibility.   However, it seems increasingly that getting my own Tier 1 visa would be in my best interest.

My earnings will be just enough to reach the threshold needed to claim the 5pts for "UK work experience", however I have a question specifically relating to dates.

My company pays salaries on the 1st of the month (which I have direct deposited into my UK bank account).  My BUNAC work permit expires on the 29th, and I'm flying back to the US the day before that on the 28th.

Without the paycheck on January 1, (which covers my December earnings), I won't reach the threshold in earnings for UK Work Experience.

Will this be a problem when I apply under Tier 1, that the UK earnings were deposited after I left the country?

Question 2:  I'm anticipating a holiday bonus that will put me over the £16k needed.  However, if it doesn't quite get me there, and I continue to work remotely for the UK company while in the US.  Would my January salary, paid from the UK company, be eligible to count towards UK Work Experience earnings?  I'm assuming not, however it is an odd outlier question that I couldn't find asked in the forum before.

Question 3:  I now have 3 bank accounts. UK Bank Account (UK salaries deposited to), US Bank1 (US salaries deposited to), US Bank2 (High Interest Savings Accounts and would be used to demonstrate maintenance funds).   As long as I provide approved documentation on all 3 accounts, there won't be any issues correct?

Thanks,
Duane-O

I have one other question on earnings, and didn't want to start a new thread on the topic.

I was reviewing my UK payslips and bank statement last night to just make sure I had everything in order, and I remembered a discrepancy from when I first started working here.

My first paycheck was a partial month, and somehow the amount that HR deposited into my account was £75 less than the amount listed on my payslip.  (i.e. payslip stated £1600 and the deposited amount on my bank statementwas only £1525).

They realized the error before I did, and the next month deposited my salary with an additional £75. (i.e. payslip stated £1600 however the deposited amount on my bank statement shows £1675)

How much of a problem is this going to be when I submit these as documentation for my Tier 1/HSMP visa.   Unfortunately, my last name is also spelled incorrectly on these statements, with my last name spelled O'Connor instead of O'Conner.  (this was corrected for payslip #3 and onward).

You will need to explain.
