Just making the point that 'cultural differences' isn't an automatic out. I'm not prepared to accept every conceivable practice just because some group of people somewhere have decided is okay. I've run across some decidedly dodgy 'cultural differences' in my time.

I don't care what age you are when you get married, but wearing a 'dress' like that and a mom-of-the-bride bra and skirt thing like that... there should be laws.

Though I suppose if you spend £16k on a dress, you want to be able to wear it to work, too.

They spent 100k on the wedding and 16k on the housing.

I'd have probably split it the other way.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
