Little Boy's Hair Cut
« on: August 31, 2004, 12:05:04 PM »
Well, I finally gathered enough nerve to properly cut Niall's hair.  I've been trimming it in the past -- over the ear and bangs, but the poor child has an awful cowlick along his hair line in the front which causes him to have very little bangs on the left side.  Needless to say it makes him look a bit lopsided.

So we got out the electric trimmer and gave it a whirl -- a #3 all round, with a bit of a #1 to tidy up along the neck and over the ears.  Overall I'm pretty pleased with the results.  It's a shame his hair is so light because it makes him look like he has very little hair.

The true test will be when daddy gets home and finds that mummy has shorn his little boy.   :o

Pictures to follow if I can get him to sit still long enough.

Hee hee hee.... I remember doing the same thing with my two year old. He looked so much more grown up after I took the clippers to him. He sat still for the most part. The worst was taking scissors to the front. When daddy came home he was pleasantly surpised. Frank always does the older boys hair but he wont touch Cobys because he wont usually sit still for him. Back in the USA I would just drag the boys to the military barbar and get them a £5.00 haircut but here I dont know where to do. Frank always just does it. Most my friends do their sons hair at home also with the exception of one who actually takes her 5 year old to Tony and Guy. What a waste!
Pebbles  ;D

I cut hubby's hair most of the time too.  He prefers it bare blade, but I can usually talk him into a #1.  I keep telling him to enjoy what hair he has whilst he still has it left.  So I don't think he'll be upset by the hair cut.

You are right tho ... it does make him look more grown up!

I am hopeless at cutting Jared's hair as you can see from the picture.  I did try the clippers but his hair is so fine that it has to be longer or he looks bald.  I wish I could since it would take less time then trying to see if his bowl cut is straight.

Here we go ...

The first picture was taken yesterday at Coram Fields and the last two were taken today, after the hair cut.

I know, naughty Mum.  But those lopsided bangs were really starting to bug me.  You know, a bit like a scab you can't stop picking.

I know exactly what you mean about his fringe.   ;D
He does look very grown up and not very happy about his picture or haircut.
