London Embassy: Federal Benefits Unit
« on: June 15, 2004, 02:52:07 AM »
Hiya everyone,

Martin and I went down to the Federal Benefits Unit at the Embassy today (Monday) to sort out a social security issue. I just wanted to say the unit opens at 8:30 and closes at 1:00 pm (Monday to Friday). We arrived around 10 am and were whisked through security and on to the FBU in a flash. We were the only ones there for the FBU and managed to take care of our paperwork (my name change, Mart's duplicate card) in about 5 minutes. It was great to be American today!! I feel bad for those people who must have waited all day with their kids in the wretched heat waiting for Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visa applications. Teehee - glad Im an American! I felt like such a VIP! Btw, really friendly people at the Embassy's American Citizen Services. At least at the front desk and the FBU anyway. American Citizen Services Passport, Notorial, and Special Counsular units were WAY busy! Glad I wasnt registering a baby!
