Mexican Cookbooks
« on: March 09, 2009, 07:59:22 PM »
Of course, like many others here, I am craving some good Mexican food, and I was looking to cook rather than to eat out. Does anyone know of a good (Anglo-cized) Mexican cookbook that I can get? I promised my husband some Mexican food for his birthday next week!

I have this one:

I haven't used it much but it's well reviewed I believe (though not on Amazon's site - by foodie mags and such). It's authentic mexican, not tex mex.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I've got these:

I like both a lot - would recommend them both. Neither are anglicised but I find that with the exception of baking it's easy to adapt measurements, etc. And so far I haven't encountered any ingredients that can't be bought via MexGrocer or substituted....

I have this one too, and can recommend it.
