Found a house that allows cats!
« on: January 07, 2010, 08:45:44 AM »
I think we found a house for lease that will let us keep our 3 dumb cats :D!  It seems to be in a good location, although for the life of me I can't remember if there were closets.  I think we saw about 15 houses yesterday.  We have a backup house (also allows cats) that we really love too, incase the first one gets sniped while we're waiting on paperwork.   Yay!  I'll get to see my cats soon!  Now I get to worry about getting them here in a few weeks.

Yay!  Congrats!  Hope you end up with your first choice (although I am very envious of anyone with "real" closets and not just wardrobes).   ;D

Uhg.  Spoke too soon.  I just got a call 20 minutes ago saying the landlord was getting cold feet about the cat.  The agent is supposed to talk to them at 4:00 today, and if it still seems negative they'll put in a bid on the other house we liked.  Not as great of a location, but it had a washer AND dryer.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Fingers duly crossed.  Obv I'm biased, but I never get the big deal about a cat.  Maybe I've only ever seen apartments decimated by dogs, but other than the potential to mess carpets/furniture, I've never seen any real cat damage.

GOOD LUCK.

(although the dryer is a big plus.  we were just fine without one, but having one again is really great!)

I hope your first choice works out, but if not the second choice will probably be great too.  As for closets, you may need to supply your own.  We have some portable closet rails from Muji, as well as an Elfa freestanding system (from the US, but sold here in the UK too).

Yay!  The landlord gave us the green light!  I'll figure out where to put a dryer.  If worse comes to worse, I can hide it in an upstairs room that we plan on using for storage.  I think the cats have 11 more days before they can be shipped, but I'd like to actually be IN the house and mostly unpacked before I get them over here.  I'd hate to drag them into the chaos of unpacking.
