How does the UKBA post the applications back?

I applied for my ILR Set (O) via post to Durham.
I was just wondering how they return the application\visa...UPS, Royal Mail,

Special Delivery usually.

your documents/passport just simply arrive on your doorstep one day, I'm afraid!  Our postman actually delivered my FLR(M) to our neighbour as we were at work when it came- I remember being gobsmacked when she casually handed me the package saying it had been laying in her kitchen for days! (of course, she didn't know what it was!)

wow... I have used my work address for all correspondence...
