What sites do you book your holidays with?
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:24:01 AM »
We haven't managed to book our holidays yet, and I think we should get going on that. Any suggestions for sites you normally book through, particularly ones where you can pay a deposit and pay off the balance later? What are some inexpensive beach holidays that you can recommend that aren't party places?

We went to Paphos, Cyprus.  Our hotel was right across the street from a public beach and it was pretty quiet.  However, we traveled in October so there were fewer people and the water was chilly but still warm enough to swim.

We booked with Thomas Cook though, not online, but we had a good time and I think the value for ££ was pretty good.

As some one who works in the travel industry, I recommend checking out your local travel agent.  A good one is worth their weight in gold when it comes to recommendations and inside knowledge and especially if something goes wrong...like a strike at an airport, flight cancellations, etc.  That is where they are so much better than a web booking site.

We have booked with Thomas Cook for our Sharm holiday in October. I thought we got a exceptional price for our 2 week holiday.

Well, I don't think there are any in this small village. There might be someone in another village, but neither DH or I know of any around this area. I think most people around here book online or over the phone. I will look into that, though. Thanks.
