Fiance Visa Questions!
« on: March 10, 2009, 04:24:24 AM »
Hello!
I have a couple questions about my fiance visa application. I am currently in the US and have applied for my fiance visa for the UK. My son and I just tried to visit my fiance in the UK but were detained and then denied entry for the fact they thought we were going to get married in the UK and needed a visa for that. So I was sent home and then I started the application process. I am going to use an external courier to submit my son and I application but will the fact that we have been denied entry before have any affect on our applications? The customs officer told me in London that my refusal for entry will not affect my application for settlement. But will it take longer for the British embassy to make choice about my visa since i do have the denial for entry? What should I be expecting now?

Also together my fiance and I have 8000 GBP in savings and he makes 1050 GBP monthly is this going to be enough to prove that we have enough money to support my son fiance and I? I am trying to get back to the UK beginning of April so any help I can get would be much appreciated!!

Your entry denial won't affect your fiance visa application.  The application might take longer to process because they will have to check up on the details of the bounce, but that won't cause your application to be refused.

You need to draw up a budget showing all the funds you have available to you along with all of your expenses, for your fiance, yourself, and your son.  If you have roughly £95 remaining per week after paying for your accommodation, utilities, and transport, (but NOT food and entertainment) then you should be fine.

Also: Do you have sole custody of your son?  You will need to show that you have the right to move him out of the US.

I have a few budget templates uploaded to my website for general use if you'd like to use one:

http://www.englishrosedesign.com/uky/detailedbudgetB.xls  (good for folks with kids)

Hope this helps! :)

Hey, Meg and Garry, have you two touched bases on the Example Budgets?  It would seem like a decent resource to add to Transpondia...
