Need some info please

 my husband is an American who is here in the u.k. on a marriage visa and is due to apply for his i.l.r. in December. however him and i split up last December and i started divorce proceedings and removed his name from all but 2 bills. we have recently reconciled and sorted out our differences but i don't know if he is still eligible for his i.l.r. in short i was just wondering if he can still proceed with his i.l.r. in December or does he have to return to the united states and start all over or apply for a different visa all together?

I think you're okay. I'm no expert, but if you can pony up 6 pieces of mail covering 2 years, your personal ups and downs shouldn't have any bearing.

And if nothing else, he can apply for an extension of his FLR without leaving the country.

Were you only seperated for three months, or were you seperated before December?

we've had arguements and split in the past but only for a few days to let things cool down. december was the only real split we've had.

I am not sure that you can realistically claim that you have been living together as a married couple for two years.

the rules says

"has completed a period of 2 years as the spouse or civil partner of a person present and settled in the United Kingdom"

It doesn't say anything about maintaining the relationship throughout that time, so I think you are good to go.
