How is 32000GPB in Cardiff

I am offered ~32K (in Cardiff) and I am the only one working in our family. We're expecting a child soon. In particular, would this be sufficient to buy a house (thru mortgage). I am not familiar with the mortgage system, house prices and good neighborhoods in Cardiff either. Any suggestion is welcome..

32K for 2 adults and a child will probably be okay in Cardiff, possibly on the lower side but certainly doable!
