Jumping the gun: Applying too early
« on: April 02, 2009, 04:00:35 PM »
So, I have submitted my student visa application too early. A stupid (but typical) me-move.
Here's the dilemma though--I was told that I could just let my app flush out of the system (therefore not getting denied my visa) and apply for a refund. Then I would reapply in 3 weeks.
Question with this: does this mean that I will have to go to get the biometrics done again? I have gotten as far in the process as having the biometrics appt this past Tuesday (3/31). Can I still use that sheet in 3 weeks?

But here is my other question.
Course starts in Sept 2009
I can enter as a student up to a month before course starts (Aug 2009)
I can have then date my entry clearance 3 months ahead of time (May 2009)
If I have until 4/14 to submit my supporting paperwork for the visa...this is actually only a couple weeks (ignoring any processing time, estimated 10 days)...Should I keep going with the application process and just explain in my cover letter the situation and hope that they take pity on me and just overlook the slight earliness?

Seriously, this visa business feels like stubbing my toe over and over again and not ever learning from my mistake.

You definitely need a new biometrics appointment, because the application has to be mailed in within 2 weeks of doing your biometrics. I'm not sure about the answer to your other question, someone else should come by to answer that!

Thanks, yeah. Blah that means another trip out into the city :(
I hope someone can help me figure this out.
