So confused!

I haven't firmly decided anything yet -- we're in a bit of a chicken and egg situation, because it's hard to get a job without physically being there, but my wife (understandably) is reluctant to go through the upheaval of moving herself and our two kids unless there is something firmly lined up at the other end for at least one of us.

I popped over for a visit (my first in three years) last month, and am actually going BACK over again this week, for a job interview. Sort of crazy, really.

I don't know...I think I'm probably doomed to a life of never feeling entirely settled in one place or the other. But it's very interesting to read about your experiences. I laughed at "Why is it so clean here?"

Good luck with whatever you decide, its so much harder when there are little ones involved.  We made sure we didn't cut any ties here in the US when we moved (I guess I had had a feeling my hubby wasn't going to settle), and it was a good job we didn't, as it turns out.  I was lucky enough to be rehired with the same company and went back to the same house.  Hopefully you will figure out what is best for your family, and if your lucky you will all be happy with the decision!
