Don't know if ten months ago now still qualifies as recent, but if it helps, I had a suberb experience with UPak in July to September 2008.
I did warehouse-to-door, (me taking the boxes to an in-town warehouse where they shrink-wrapped and palletized then trucked it to Houston port, then at the UK end they cleared everything at port for me then delivered to my door) 100cf for $1,300, and the service was great. The one and only extra charge was a port fee of I think £34 payable by debit card over the phone, upon e-mail notification of the ship arriving at the London port, but we were told about that at the outset.
Everything went very smoothly, and was about seven weeks all told.
Edited to add: This won't be very helpful, but I seem to recall I looked into OceanFreight also, among the several companies who were candidates, and for some reason I didn't want to go with them. I wish I could remember what put me off, it may have been nothing bad, just something that didn't fit my own needs perhaps, I can't remember but something made me not want them.
