One of my best friends is getting married in the US and has asked me to be in her wedding. I was wondering if there are any shops in/around Sunderland-Newcastle area that use the same designers as the US? I apologise if this post has been covered but I tried using the search button but Im not that good at it.

Is there somewhere in that area that has alfred angelo? They're both in the US and UK and reasonably priced

You should be able to locate shops that stock that designer, by checking their website and inquire about stocklists. To be honest tho, it would probably be cheaper to purchase from a US store. If it's a well known designer such as Maggie Sottero or Alfred Angelo, just check their websites. :)

We've had a look on the Alfred Angelo site but she's not so keen on the designs and colours. Saying that, she does seem to keep changing her colours daily. Thankfully theres still a good bit of time for her to decide.
Thanks tebs and phatbeetle for your advice :)

Look under international and you can find a ton of stores. This is where I got my dresses for my girls.

Ohhhhh thanks southernchic. I'll forward on the website and see what my friend says. I liked some of those dresses so here's hoping she will too :)

Let your friend pay for the dress if she likes them then you can pay her back. The dress that I am getting my bridesmaids was around $150 but I got 30% (with tax the dresses were $118) off b/c they were having a sale on this designer. The reason why I say this is because I have 2 girls that live in England that will be in the wedding and I thought it would be easier for them to get them over there. When I phoned up the shop I don't know if the reason why it cost so much was because the dress is brand new and like no bridal shops have that dress besides the one I went to because it was so new but I phoned up a shop close to my fiance and the girls that will be in the wedding and they said it would be like 160 pounds which is about $260. I would suggest if your friend like some of the dresses then you go to a shop close to you and if they don't have the dress then just get measured for it and you can try on a dress similar to it. My dress for my girls is style 79207 with navy with an ivory sash. Good luck. Let me know what you all decide.

I'm in the UK and have two British bridesmaids and one in the US. I bought the two UK dresses at a little boutique in Wales. They're not really "bridal" but are perfect and exactly what I had in mind. My US bridesmaid is a bit too large for UK sizing, so I just sent her one of the UK dresses and she had a dressmaker make up a similar thing for her. The colour is a shade lighter, her skirt will be a bit longer and she's having short sleeves (the others are sleeveless). But they'll all have the same "look."

Is that something you could do? Be slightly different from the others but still look as if you belong?
