Getting married in Kane county Illinois in July. Was really really hoping to be able to drop my marriage license off myself after the wedding rather than have the pastor mail it in. I did call the courthouse, but the woman I talked to seemed to have no idea what she was talking about, despite being very sweet. I've heard of other people in the state dropping it off on their own, but I would imagine this law changes county to county?
Anyone done this? Trying not to be impatient, but I'm getting married July 25th, and trying to leave the country on August 28th, which I know is ambitious already. Trying to skate around waiting a couple weeks for the marriage certificate.
