Lack of Time....
« on: May 24, 2009, 05:25:47 PM »
Blergh.

I know it's completely irrational to be upset by this, and I understand that Tim NEEDS to get household tasks done on his days off, but why does it make me so upset when I know it's his day off and he's not talking to me?  Or, Skype will put him as "online" and I'll get excited and send off an IM only to have Skype set him back into away mode 10 minutes later.

It's stupid, because I know he has to fit in all his household tasks (cleaning, laundry, dishes, gardening/mowing) AND his hobbies (working on the garden railway or trains, reading)  that he ignored on his work days (depending on his shift, really).

And it frustrates me further, because when I was visiting, we were doing all these things together, or he wasn't very far away from me if I was inside and he was working outside or in the workshop.

*sigh*

Just have to keep looking at my countdown, knowing I'll see him soon, really.  And remember the days when he DOES have time to spend idling on the phone with me and know that those days *do* happen, just not daily.

Do you have webcams?  DH and I used to turn on our webcams and go about our business, occasionally stopping to send a message or chat.  It was the next best thing to really hanging around together.

No, we don't. We debated about it back and forth and then never got them.....but I think I might suggest it to him because I really like your idea! :D

Not going to talk to Tim much this week, either.  ARGh.

Today, I'm off to my aunt's. Tomorrow I'm going to Philly to spend the night at a friend's (back on Wed), then Thursday, Tim's friend comes up to visit him and they're going away for the weekend to do train stuff.

So frustrating!

(just whining, ignore me)

I haven't talked to Tim since sometime last week because he was off for a long weekend with his best mate. Usually he'll text me daily to keep me updated on what he's been doin, but I've heard not a peep out of him since the 28th.  I'm not worried, but I do miss him.

So, I called his house and left him a message on his answering machine.  All I said was "just leaving you a message to come home to. I love you." but just being able to do that, and hearing his voice on his answering machine has made me feel loads better.

Wow, I'm a big dork.

I am sure you are a bit worried, it is hard to not get to talk for a few days at a time.  This summer I am working as a wilderness leaders taking groups of girls out camping which means there will be days (2-9) that my BF and I won't be able to talk.  Then mid-summer he is doing a road to Mongolia rally trip http://www.80clays.com (they drive from London to Mongolia) so we will most likely have weeks without being able to talk.  It sure will be a bit of a test for us.

Not to worry, I'll be knocking on your door, so you can remind me to not be so crazy! *wink, wink*

Feel free to come to me! I'm quite used to not talking to Tim for stretches of time, depending on his schedule.

He did call me last night, and apparently they were in an area with no mobile signal, so by the time he got to a place with signal, he said he had 4 messages to send to me, but decided not to because he figured there wasn't a point to blasting me with 4 messages when he'd be back home the following day.  I kind of see his point. No reason to waste money like that.  And I told him that I knew he wasn't injured because if something bad had happened, one of his family members would have called or emailed me.

When Tim went to Serbia for 2 weeks last year, he texted me once a day whenever they had signal, so I hope your BF can do the same on his road trip!
