Documents needed for NCS appointment

This is going to sound like a stupid question and I feel that I already know the answer, but I thought I would put it out there anyway.

I am getting all the documents and my application ready so I can schedule an appointment at a NCS.

However, my husband is currently at sea (he is in the Merchant Navy) and isn't due back until the end of July. Am I going to need to produce his passport as part of the documents needed? Obviously I cannot since he has it, but I do have his long BC and paper driving licence. Would this be enough, or does anyone think that I will have a problem. I could wait until his return in July but I just wanted to get this going now...

If you are applying as the spouse of a UK national you need to prove that he is a UK national.  Can he get a certified copy to you?

No, he can't. He's on a ship 5000+ miles away. Sigh...seems so silly because we already proved his UK nationality when we applied for my Spousal Visa and my ILR.

Seems I will just have to wait until he is home in July. I just wanted to be super efficent and have this ball rolling now instead of later. Ah well, such is life.

Ah, what a pity you didn't take a copy before he left.

If you have a non-certified copy and evidence he is away, you could try with the docs you have.
