Butter Milk
« on: June 22, 2004, 11:32:07 AM »
Has anyone used the buttermilk here for ranch dressing?  I have a powder mix to make ranch dressing but it calls for buttermilk and I am wondering if the butter milk here will work in it????

I'd think so! I'm not aware there's a UK/US difference in buttermilk.  :)
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

The butter milk works GREAT!!  I use the Hidden Valley ranch mixes from the States as well.  The problem I have is finding it when I need it.  Sainsbery's tends to carry it fairly regularly, but are out often.  When that is the case, I substitue sour cream for the butter milk and get great results.

Enjoy!!
