Help - is no biometric appointment needed for my 3yo?
« on: July 28, 2009, 03:41:40 AM »
My hubs has his Tier1 (General) Migrant visa and is already in Wales.

I just completed applications online for myself, my son (5 years old) and my daughter (3 years old) online. (We are still in Illinois).

I was prompted for a biometrics appointment for myself and my 5 year old.
However, my 3yo's application noted that biometrics were not needed?

 ??? ??? ??? ???
Is there an age minimum for biometrics?
I can't seem to find any information online.

I'm going to call the consulate tomorrow...but I know I won't sleep well tonight wondering if I screwed something up. (I've just driven back from North Carolina, on my own, with the kids (and a sick 3yo to boot), so my brain IS fried, but my husband insisted I complete the applications tonight, as the kids' passports arrived while I was gone, and we need the visas.)

If anyone knows, pls let me know!
THANKS.

Just did this in Chicago last week.  Your 3 year old does not need a biometric appointment.  My daughter's (also 3)  visa was approved without it.  I know it is stressful but they really did not ask as much for the kids for as for the adults.  Don't worry, take a deep breath, and feel free to ask your questions.

Thanks! I was surprised there was no information about age requirements on any of the websites (except here).

hoping to go to Hay on Aug 8. Thank goodness for expediters!

Mommy_grrl, we're in the same boat! I've got a 4 year-old daughter, and we're just submitting our applications now and hoping to get our visas in time for August 5th. Stressful, but with the expediters it should be fine.

Good luck!

Just wanted to note that I was surprised to find that I *do* need biometrics for my four year old. Boo. I was hoping to skip that part. They squeezed me in yesterday after I begged and pleaded, so they probably won't be too thrilled to see me again today!
