Which food processor?
« on: July 30, 2009, 08:27:01 PM »
I am connected to my Cuisinart at the hip and can't cook without it.  Are there any good ones available in the UK?  Any you love or hate? How are prices?

I have a Cuisinart here that I bought on Amazon.co.uk.  It gets a lot of use, as we're a family of 5 in a rural area with no restaurants or takeaways nearby so we cook a lot.

It's still going strong 4 years later!

About £50 cheaper than Magimix, too.

Another Magimix here too. I use it constantly and love the mini bowl that sits inside of it for smaller jobs.

I say go for a Magimix. I have a cheapo one and I am going to replace it with a Magimix soon.

I didn't know they even sold Cuisinart in the UK.  Mine has lasted at least fifteen years. Those of you with Magimix, what brand did you use previously in the US?  I'm curious about the comparison.

I saw on another thread that KitchenAid sells their mixers in the UK, but do they sell their food processors as well?  If it's an American brand, it must be even more expensive than in the US and I can't afford the US price!

Yes, they do sell Kitchenaid food processors and stand mixers. I've seen them in a few stores here in Scotland. I, personally, own a kitchen aid food processor that was purchased at John Lewis for about £250 (definitely not the cheapest option), but it was a wedding gift from my aunt who knew how much I coveted it.

I love it, and I stare at the box all the time in admiration (i've only just gotten married and we are still unpacking things). I can't wait to start using it.

If you want kitchenaid (and I think cuisinart products too) you can get them here. But if you can't afford the price, there are plenty of other good options.

I had a Cuisinart in the US. I think they're pretty much exactly the same - I haven't noticed a difference. In fact if anything I prefer my Magimix, but that may just be because I have more accessories here.
