Has anyone used these guys?  Are they just another Foxton's type?
They seemed to have a few more choices, I was going to go see a flat w/ them, and ask what their deal/fees is/are.     But I think I recall someone here commenting on a bad experience with them.  Again, I could not successfully search/find this thread, so apologies.

A lot of other people/agencies I've called from gumtree end up saying "no longer available but I have something else...(except it's much uglier in a worse location for just a bit more)"

:)

About 15 years ago I rented a flat in East Dulwich through Ludlow Thompson.  It all went smoothly, and I had no problems until the very end when i went to move out.   The place was spotless, apart from the fact I hadn't cleaned the oven inside.  They tried to withold my entire £400 deposit for a dirty oven!!   I went off my head!  If they'd wanted to keep back £20 or something like that, I'd have understood.

In the end, I had to go back to the flat, where new tenants were now living, and clean the flipping oven to get my £400 back.   They were arseholes, i thought.

[mod note] Ahem, let's try and avoid any defamation suits here. Probably best if people PM any negative comments to nystacey. Thank you. end mod note

Don't forget landlords/agents now have to put the deposit into a tenancy deposit scheme so are theoretically less likely to get away with withholding it unreasonably.

People wanting mildly non-biased opinions of various London agents are free to e-mail me.  My husband has worked in various parts of London (as an estate agent) for the past 5 years or so and pretty much has had dealings with everyone - including cleaning up other agent's messes :).
