Those of you that have it, how do you find them?  What about driving in the rain? After having just been to Amsterdam, I am seriously considering one of these little beauties for around town!

I had a Vespa when I lived in California and oh, how I miss it!!  It's OK in the rain if you don't go too fast and if you have a good coat.  In London I saw these things that covered the legs and hands of people riding their Vespas, which is super clever.  They're really fun and great for city driving.  I hope I can get another one some day.

I saw a gorgeous pale green one last weekend (and even took a picture of it)! But the thought of having to go through the whole driving license test ordeal again is enough to put me off for life!  :P

I'd really love one as well, I nearly got one in Brighton (would be perfect for you!) but as my work is in the middle of nowhere I don't think it would be suitable for me...maybe when we move to Austin :)

Navie your in the right place if you do want to get one - not sure who it was but there was a Brighton company that would rent you a vespa for the day. Did find these though:

Would you need to - not sure on this but i thought if it was under 125cc you could drive it on a car license?

I love Vespas. The website is awesome, tells you the whole history of them. And loads of eye candy for those who like to covet...  :)

As i thought, for a 50cc you can get on straight away, for a 125 its a days training.

I did CBT and rode a scooter back in the distant past when I was still at school before passing my car driving test which then meant I could rip the L plates off. You don't *have* to do CBT if you have a full car licence but I'd say basic training is still worth doing if you've never ridden a moped before at all, I did my CBT with a local motorcycle club and found it very helpful.
