UK Home Sq Ft sizings... when shown!
« on: September 08, 2009, 06:01:57 PM »
Hi all,

For research and knowledge and benchmarking purposes for any new potential people thinking of coming to the UK, I just thought I'd pop up some figures for sizing and pricing from this weeks local property newspaper.

I'm in the Slough, Windsor, Ascot, Wentworth, Windlesham, Gerrards Cross, Denham, Heathrow, Maidenhead area and the newspaper covers properties here and just beyond and in & around!

Hope you're sitting down...

Wraysbury, 2412 Sq Ft £1.15 million, Windsor 2022 Sq Ft, £865,000, Winkfield, 3626 St Ft £1.35 million, Windsor 1552 sq Ft £675,000, Windsor 938 Sq Ft £385,000, Fifield 3631 Sq Ft, £1.485 Million, Wentworth 6469 Sq Ft £3.5 million, Ascot 7200 Sq Ft £2.85 million, Sunningdale 8000 Sq Ft £3.3 million, Englefield Green 3300 Sq Ft £1.175 million.

Rentals - looking in the rentals section and at houses which 'seem' to look like some of the ones above and also ones quite a bit smaller...

Winkfield 4 bed £2000 pcm, Maidenhead 4 bed £3750 pcm, Windlesham (ok this is a bigggg house!) £15000 pcm, Windsor (looks like a house worth about £800K  size i'd say 1800-2000 Sq Ft £2995 pcm, Burnham 3 bed 1930's semi with 4 bed and an extension £1250 pcm, Datchet house worth around £750K  4 beds £1950 pcm, Burnham 4 bed probably 1200-1400 Sq Ft 4 beds £1500 pcm.

As I've mentioned in other posts, when Sq Ft is mentioned, they seem to be on th elarger and very much ultra high end range of properties. There are some variances which of course come down to the actual area, Wentworth Estate is one o fhte most affluent areas in the whole of the UK, so renting there is up in the 10,000 pcm range! highest I ever saw was £20,000 pcm !!

You can of course get much more options in the £900 pcm range for a 8-900 Sq Ft 3 bedroom 1930's semi, sometimes with extensions to increase living space.

The above is just meant as a rought indicator of what you'd see if you look in the same publication I am, they're freely available in many newsagents around here.

Hope this helps for researchers!

Cheers! DtM ! West London & Slough UK!
