I have often used the crispy salad onions available here, but I have to say they really aren't AS good as French's. They are not as light, and they are less salty (which I guess may be a good thing), so you may have add a bit more salt than you normally would. They can be easy or hard to find, but our local Morrison's carries them. I might bring some, if you really love them, just until you get settled and can look for the ones here and see what you think. I made a green bean casserole with the onions and mushroom soup available here and there was a DEFINITE difference between the taste of that and the one you would make in America. Even my husband thought the one with American ingredients was much tastier.
