Dubbing Children's TV

This is totally random, but is it weird to anyone else that they dub *some* of the Irish accents in Piggley Winks, but not all of them? I don't get it. Were the original ones too fake? And how do they get around the plotline of the grandfather being an Irish immigrant living in America? Does he just immigrate all the way to England instead?

I really don't get it.

I've never seen it, but I just read on the Wiki page for the show that the UK version dubs the childrens' American voices for English ones - no mention of any Irish voices being dubbed. The page also mentions that in some versions of the show, the story is set in England, not the US.

I guess I'm the only fan of kids' tv. 

Piggley's voice is dubbed, but neither of his two best friends'. They're all Irish. The teacher's voice is dubbed - also Irish - but none of the parents, as far as I've seen. I dunno. Maybe I think about these things too much.

Only Piggley's grandkids have American accents in the US version.  All the other characters have Irish accents.
