Male Midwives

I wonder how many women specialize in erectile dysfunction and other male issues? Not being cheeky, just going with the conversation!

I have known a female urologist, who specifically dealt with erectile type issues.  Again, she said it was because the reproductive system was fascinating and she really enjoyed helping the patient come through a really emotionally draining and embarrassing issue, to live life again (as it were).  I think that is nice and not creepy at all.  My guess is that loads of people would hear her and think "what a great doctor."  I don't understand how a man can say something similar and people think "creep."

Most female midwives that I have seen don't have kids, so whats the difference really? My friends sister still raves about the male midwife that delivered her last baby. I think its brilliant, and I would be happy with it! And even more happy to tell everyone that a male midwife delivered my baby!!!

Interesting topic - throughout my entire pregnancy I only saw female midwives, and when I was induced and finally in labor I was taken to the delivery floor and they asked me if I minded having a male midwife be my midwife. Honestly if you had asked me even a day before I may have said no, at that point I was in so much pain I didn't care if a donkey delivered my baby! Anyway, he was FABULOUS. I loved him. He was so good, so kind, and I had a very good delivery. I really, really liked him. This was at St Georges in Tooting.
