Likes and Dislikes

I hope it is ok that I start this one going...  I guess it would seem right since Tom is my fiance...

What will I miss in America...3 most things...

1.  I will miss the summertime by the bay and friends gathering to eat crabs and drink beer.

2.  I will miss being able to visit my family and friends when ever I had the chance to...  to pick up the phone without a thought since I have a great long distance plan.

3.  My Truck....  Oh will I miss my Toyota pickup...  he has been a faithfull and wonderful truck...  First brand new vehicle I ever owned that I could call my own.  Has taken me many places and seen many new things.

What I look forward to:

1.  Waking up every morning and knowing that I will be able to greet Tom... making up for all the time together we have lost... keeping the darn computer turned off...  LOL! knowing our words will not be minced by netmeeting.

2.  The beautiful English countryside on the back of Tom's motorbike (when he gets new one)  or on my own bike.  Seeing all the charming villages that surround us during their festivals I hear so much about.

3.  Meeting new family and friends, as well as being around some old friends that live nearby...and learning the cultures.

It doesn't cost us much more to call the US than long distance within the UK. One Tel charges 3 pence a minute to the US, that's about 4.5 cents.

what I like about the England

Everything is so green,  
It isn't really that hot..well a few days out of the year..but it is comfortable.

NO SNOW where we live...

Fish and Chips..
Sausage rolls
and My darling mother in law

What I dislike about England.

Miss my friends
Feeling lost and lonely
Having to take my driving test all over again.

What I miss back in USA

My mom
My friends
My Yorkie = Gretzky..I love you
Doctors who know my health problems and can treat them.
Real Pain Killers..Not Co Codemal
Dollar bills.
Ice Tea
Being able to call a friend when I am having a bad day.
Knowing who my true friends are and who will stab me in the back.

What sort of pain do you suffer from? Have you tried Solpedeine Max? It's got codeine in it, which I know you can't get in the US without a prescription. It's really good.

What I like about England
--We get Autumn here! The leaves change color and goodness, it is beautiful!
--Transport, I don't need a car here, it's lovely to climb up the stairs out of the tube station and peer up and oh! there's Big Ben
--Shopping! I love the clothes here!

What I dislike about England
--Things, like paperwork, seem to take forever here
--Sometimes my lecturers don't check their facts and use examples about the US that are skewed (ex: blacks couldn't vote in US until 1960)
--Food, I'm finding it a little bland...

What I like about the US
--Essentially, it's 'home'
--The country is so vast, so far, I believe I had more culture shock moving from the SW to the NE then moving from US to UK 
--Things like paperwork don't take as long, seemingly

What I dislike about the US
--You have to pay loads to travel
--It's MASSIVE, an English person asked once that since she was visiting Los Angeles, if it were possible for her to take a bus to New York, I said, "um, you could but it will take five days"
--There seems to be a lack of a safety net to help those who fall under
