They also had cream of wheat cereal but it seemed to have bananas in it!

 :o
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

The beef tastes different here?   ???

I've found that it does. Not bad...just different. I haven't been to Scotland so I don't know what it's like there but in other parts of the UK I've been to, I have found it to taste different.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I have since went to the store and bought about 15 spices , to attempt the sausage. I have also fallen in love with Oasis Summer Fruits or something close to that anyway. Just what I needed.  I plan to try to make the sausage, and then some ham and potato soup , and chicken and dumplings! Can't wait to see how this all turns out.

I have been here awhile now, and I have to admit I am missing American foods big time. So much that I am craving things from back home that I would not normally eat or drink.

Like Kool-aid ???!!!

I miss our sausage too , and can't seem to find anything that taste similar to our breakfast sausage.

When it comes to drinking something outside of beer/rum , milk, water and orange juice it's hard to find anything with alot of flavor. The coke don't taste the same, there is no mountain dew, the fruit drinks aren't very tasty. So I am looking for something like fruit punch.

I have had a really hard time with the beef in general , I assume because it is grass fed and not corn fed.

I am craving American cheese , that I can slice and put on bread or make tacos with. any suggestions?

Kool-aid: I've seen it in Tescos before as well. The big Isleworth one.

Drinks: I got over Coke tasting weird. I prefer the way coke tastes in those little miniature cans as well. I'm also very fond of Shloer and Appletizer. They are both sparkling fruit drinks.

Beef: I had the same problem with beef before someone on here suggested buying organic. It's still not 100% right, but close enough that I can finally enjoy tacos again.

Cheese: I buy red leicester for traditional american cheddar and Dairylea for that good ol' "American cheese" experience.

You can pretty much find a substitute for anything you are missing. It's just experimenting and keeping your eyes open when strolling the grocery stores.
