lance took it easy yesterday and allowed some others win the stage, knowing he was still in first place...he could afford the rest...  time trials today which he normally does good...then the last stage of race is on sunday...lets hope he keeps his first place

Tour de France

So, a bunch of Germans decided to spit on Lance.  Ya' know, and people make fun of the "Ugly American".......

Those Germans and French people  -  a real, class act.

(Excerpt)

Asinine German cycling fans harassed five-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong during yesterday’s grueling ride though the French Alps — two of the “idiots” spat on him, and another spectator chased him while wearing a “F - - - Bush” T-shirt. By the end of the day, of course, the spit on Armstrong was exchanged for a bath of champagne, thanks to the Texan's time-trial victory.
But the win did not erase what had happened.

"I don't think it's safe," said Armstrong, who is on pace to win an unprecedented sixth tour in a row. He called the German fans "horrible" — but said that animosity "motivates me more. I think it puts a little fuel on the fire."

In a TV interview, he complained about the Germans' "disgusting behavior."

Many Europeans are openly contemptuous of the American.

That sentiment was captured in a roadside sign last week that read, "Lance Go Home."

As a result, Armstrong has bodyguards during the three-week race.

"Nothing against the French, but in France, they're after us," Armstrong said.

Absolutey disgusted behavior and totally unnecessary.  Could you imagine that happening to a French citizen or German citizen running in the New York marathon.  There would be a total outrange from both countries...

Not to highjack the subject but.... The USOC told our own althletes that we cannot wave our flag or show how proud they are of representing the U.S. because it will present itself to the world as Get this ---  "being confrontational".  Yeah, whatever.  Feed me bore bull$hit!!  But having let's say France or Germany parading their flags would not be considered confontational just national pride.     NO OTHER COUNTRY WAS TOLD THAT!  Just the althletes from the United States.  SCREW THEM AND TO THE HELL WITH THAT!!

Ok back to LANCE!!! ;D

LOL, ok NYSOM...thank you for the bit of news...  we have been watching it diligently...and not heard of the spitting during the highlights... I find it horrible... and very unsportsman like...  but yes, back to Lance...  He won the time trials again yesterday, his 5th stage win this year...  he is a good 6 minutes ahead of his competition....so baring no accidents etc... he will be a six time champ of the Tour de France.

Will be watching it today.  Actually we almost brought tickets on the Euro for today.  Glen said com'on lets go to Paris tomorrow and watch Lance win.   ;D  COOL  IDEA!!  Nothing like spur of the moment stuff... Until we were about to book our tickets £600 :o :o!! I thought maybe £100  £150 (we were willing to pay up to about £200) but £600 nope don't think so.  So we'll be watching it at home.  :P  Oh well was a good idea and would have loved to have been part of history in the making..

Go Lance!!
