One way flights to and from the UK
« on: October 11, 2009, 09:53:21 PM »
Hi everyone, I know this topic has been covered recently, but just to confirm: am I correct
that there are very few one-way flight deals from the UK to the US but that they are quite easy to find back from the US to the UK? I used to do one way flights as a student but am having trouble finding anything now. The only one ways I can find for a reasonable price are on Air Berlin, but there seem to be lots from the US, so is it indeed cheaper to buy two one ways than to get a round trip (I'm going to Miami and then to L.A.) and possibly pay money to change the date?

I take that back- it's over $500 with tax! Any tips for cheap flexible ways to get to the US now?

Probably be cheaper to do a two-way flight with a flex return
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

On Atiflights I was able to book a one way flight from Wash/Nat'l to Gatwick for under $400!

I haven't ever been able to find any good deals on one-way flights unfortunately.  I actually booked a round trip for my move and it ended up being half the cost of a one-way ($650 vs. $1200...yikes!), so even if I have to pay a penalty to switch the flight/get the miles, it'd still be cheaper than what I'd pay otherwise.  I agree with maybe looking into booking something with a flex-return date!  You'd think that the airlines would just charge half a round trip or something .  ::)
Moved to London 13th November!

Maybe try http://www.nonstoptravel.net/

I booked with them when I moved over in April and it was by far the cheapest. I only booked a one way because it was less then round trip. I paid $429.00 and that was for economy plus seats. Only thing is you might be better off calling them for faster service because on the site you have to send a quote request and then they get back to you.

I got an amazing deal on a one-way, non stop flight from Denver to LHR for about $350 on Vayama.com.  They do exist, but few and far between in my experience.
