Organic Food Shops in England
« on: November 17, 2009, 12:35:08 AM »
Hello everyone. I'm a Brit who has been living in America for over 20 years. I am now moving back to the UK shortly and need to know where Organic, gluten-free/wheat-free/preservative-free shops in the London area are. Also, if you could tell me where they are in Derby as well, as I might relocate there. I would appreciate any information that you can provide. Thanks in advance!

I don't live in London so can't direct you to specific shops. However, I think you'll find things have changed in the past 20 years - most supermarkets have a section of gluten- and wheat-free foods, as well as plenty of organic produce. There's also a large Whole Foods in London which should satisfy all of your organic food cravings!

Planet Organic is probably your best bet.  Here is a list of their locations: http://www.planetorganic.com/blog/?page_id=17  (you can shop online too)

We used to use Able & Cole. http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/ As far as I know they are national and I would recommend them.

We don't use them on a daily basis anymore but we always get our Christmas dinner off them. They do really good duck.
