I need a drink
« on: August 06, 2004, 04:05:22 PM »
Hello,

I'm sitting here by myself - my husband has just taken our boys to spend the night at their grandparents.

We are going out tonight at 6:30 to a garden/bbq/drinks party at a friends, but I've been so incredibly preoccupied and stressed by our pending move and repatriation, that I'm considering having a drink NOW on my own!

I don't want to show up to a party tipsy (it doesn't take much for me) because that would be rude, but I'm so incredibly stressed out.

But with the nice weather, no kids and being Friday, surely I can indulge a bit!

Go for it, Kelly. If you stick to just one or two an hour, you should be okay...

I'm so glad you guys said go for it!

Cause I've  already popped opem a nicely chilled bottle of Chardonnnay!  El husbando can join me when he returns from taxi-ing the kids.

I'd get paranoid if I'd had a couple of drinks and everybody said I shouldn't drink alone!  :D

No, that would be if it were Monday morning and the kids were in the other room.   ;)

Sounds like the perfect time for a Pimms!

Okay, so I soak up all the adverts. I've never actually had it myself, but it, aside from the type of alcohol it is, what you use in it sounds like it's a gorgeous drink! Anyway, sunshine, no kiddies, Friday...ahhhhhh. Yeah, go on.  ;D

Thanks everybody for supporting me while having a drink!!!!!!!.

My husband's home and we're heading out to the party!  The last time I looked, he was the right husband.   ;)

What a wonderful evening to have a drink out on our deck before going to a party.

P.s.  Peedal, I love Father Ted!

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh that is the ONE drink I really miss right now, being pregnant, oh Lisa you have to have one but gte Graham to take you to a pub that does proper ones, not just a shot in a glass topped up with sprite. bleuch, you need the real deal, cucumber, mint and all, lots of ice in a jug, mmmmmmmmmmmm perfect. Nothing better on a summer's day.

Yep, that's just the way I make it all the way through Wimbledon, Liz.  Yummy - real lemonade, not Sprite.  Ick!

It is always Pimms O'Clock!  ;D

Ooo! Great suggestion! I hadn't thought about asking for one at a pub. That'll kill two birds! I'm such an infrequent drinker that when I go to a pub I never know what to order...and I've been wanting to try Pimms without having to buy the whole bottle.
